Syn Flex
question about switching my dog to a new joint supplement?
i have had my dog on Glyco-Flex III for a little over 2 months now and i have about a week worths left. i was not totally happy with how it worked so i bought a bottle of Syn-Flex to use after all the GF has been used up. my question is, is it ok to immediately switch him or should i wait a few days? his last GF dose will be on Friday so can i start him on the Syn-Flex Saturday or should i wait until Monday?
It’s fine to just change over.
I have used synflex for ages and found it very good.
It is virtually impossible to overdose on glucosamine
I do find changing every now and again seems to help them anyway as if the mix is slightly different or whatever.
I also used shark cartiledge to good effect as well.

Liquid Glucosamine
Safe to crush glucosamine tablets or capsules?
I can’t swallow these huge pills or capsules. Liquid is expensive. Can I crush the tablets or open the capsules and mix with juice?

Thanks, Sketdoc… I have arthritis all over my body, and these pills make my daily life easier. I don’t care if they really work or placebo effect, I will keep taking them.
It’s fine to crush them. I have used Glucosamine and it works. When I’ve run out, I feel pain in about 3 to 4 days.
I used to be a distance runner so my knees have some miles and abuse on them. This helps, but from what I’ve read it only helps some people not all. See if it works for you.

I cannot think of the name of it, but it starts with a “D”. And they spell it out several times during the commercial. Makes the dogs coat shiny, helps with scratching, odor, & hot spots. Please help!!

Is it okay to give a young dog Missing Link Plus with glucosamine?
I have a 9 year old shepherd mix with bad knees and my vet recommended putting him on a glucosamine supplement. I’ve read good things about the Missing Link dietary supplement so I got the Plus formula that includes glucosamine and was giving it to both our dogs. Our other dog is a one year boston terrier and I know bostons are prone to knee problems as well ( I think its called luxating patella). I didn’t think it would be a problem to give it to both, but on the manufacturer’s website it only mentions “mature” dogs in the description for Missing Link Plus. Just want to make sure this is okay, or if I should put the young one on the original Missing Link formula.
I just asked my friend, an holistic pracitioner, this question a couple of weeks ago. She told me they are never too young for glucosamine and chondroitin. I was asking referring to my 10 month old Chihuahua, as I had been giving it since he was 5 months. .
